Sad I missed the meetup! Love the point of Internet friends --> close friends, Sean. I was just in LA last month, and a creator economy founder I met through Twitter over a year ago invited me and another friend over to dinner at his mom's house, where she made a home-cooked Passover meal. Pretty cool moment because I wasn't able to travel home to celebrate the holiday with my family! Keep crushing it, y'all 🙌
Been doing content creation for awhile and feel like I get caught up in the numbers so much, I forget there are real people behind the screens!
That being said, if anyone in this Out West Community ever wants to talk content, internet stuff, or really anything else, HMU! Would love to meet some like minded individuals!
I met a ton of "internet friends" in February and March all of which I had met through Airrack's Creator Now Program. February I stayed in LA for a week after a race and it was quite an experience cause we had talked over Discord and the Hangout Calls many times before, plus I had known them since September of 2021. In March was the first Creator Now Meetup, where I met even more Creator Friends of mine and it sure is an experience. I think the thing about it is, I felt more comfortable each time after the first with meeting new "internet friends." Crazy to see how far the internet can take two people. It reminds me of those videos of two gamer friends who played COD BO2 and finally met after 10 years.
Yes! Been creating content for 10 years but the most recent I’ve made my friends through Tiktok and LinkedIn. Recently went to NYC and got food recs from other tech creators, have friends in the bay from linkedin, and will be moving to Seattle for my fulltime and have a few friends there that I’ve met and will get to reconnect! Still so many other online friends I want to meet in person!
i felt so warm when reading this week’s post (-,: the vulnerability shown!!!! the clarity in the writing!!! i can put your faces, and your tones of voice to the words ((now)), it’s pretty magical... thank you for gifting me that! ALSO-- uh, a memory i forgot i had, UNLOCKED, thanks to daniel-- the 11 likes?!! YES I REMEMBER FEELING THE SAME!!! wooowwww
i have not connected with anyone through content creation... mmmm, what’s holding me back??? Oof, the deep insecurity of follower count + being too introspective/artsy-- like my brain is like: who am i to dm someone so cool? what do i bring to the table????¿¿
